Occupancy is not profit. This is the difference.
Pace against the same point last season, what each channel leaves after commission, and what a room costs before it earns anything.

Rate management, channel economics, forward book, pace and cost per occupied room.
What it actually does.
What each channel actually leaves you
Rate, commission, and what is left after the room has been serviced. Direct is not automatically best, and you cannot decide either way on a number nobody has.
- Every channel reconciled — what they sold, what they owe, what arrived.
- Commission accrued as it is earned, so the month’s cost is in the month.
- Rate parity you can check rather than assume.
The same room, four prices, and the one that looks highest is not the one that leaves the most behind.
A rate is a decision, not a habit
Every change dated, attributed and reversible, so a season’s pricing can be reviewed afterwards instead of remembered. Recommendations say which rule produced them.
- Accept or refuse — a refusal is recorded, so the rule can be judged.
- Length-of-stay controls that protect a weekend instead of filling Friday.
- Pace beside the same point last year, because occupancy alone is just a number.
Occupancy is a vanity figure until this line is under it.
The ones people ask about this.
Does it change rates automatically?
It proposes; a person decides. An automatic rate change nobody reviewed is how a property discounts a sold-out weekend.
Can it read our channel manager?
Where one offers an interface, yes. Where it does not, the reconciliation is read from the statement.
What is cost per occupied room built from?
Housekeeping minutes, linen, amenities, energy and the share of kitchen, laundry and head office that the rooms carried — all posted, none estimated.
Nothing here is a separate product.
